How do 1-on-1 Projects work?

To be invited to a 1-on-1 Project you first have to enable Services in your profile.  There are two types of Projects:  Category and Custom. 

Category Projects

Category Projects are for a specific type of service such as business card design.  You can set your standard pricing, what is included, and your time required.  When you add a Category it will be shown in the Services tab on your profile.

Pricing

Each category has a typical range of pricing that the client will see for a particular category.  We allow a minimum slightly below the typical range.  

Portfolio Items

For each category you will be required to upload a category image, as well as portfolio examples.  

Bidding

If a client selects a Service from your profile, you are on the only designer that is invited.  There is no bidding.  If you a client invites you from the Projects page, then one or more designers can be invited.

Enable Category Projects

1. Visit your profile.
2. Click the Services tab.
3. Click Edit.
4. Click "Add Service".

Custom Projects

Custom projects are for anything that doesn't fit into a Category project or for logo related work.  We want to avoid confusion with logo contests, so there are no logo specific categories for the client to choose from.  Custom projects are ideal for selling additional logo concepts that did not win in a contest.  The minimum price for a customer project is $49.

Enable Custom Projects

1. Visit your profile.
2. Click the Services tab.
3. Click Edit.
4. Click "Allow Clients to invite me to custom projects"

With custom projects, you are the only designer that is invited.  There is no bidding.
